who/what is a ‘nekomancer’, you ask… let me explain..
necromancy:
from the merriam-webster dictionary
meaning:
it’s made of:
does it start to make sense?
neko
it’s the japanese word for ‘cat’.
to be exact, it’s the (modified hepburn) romanization of the japanese word for cat.
in japanese, cat is written like this: 猫. and it’s pronounced as: ねこ. and the romanization of ねこ is ‘neko’.
to put this all together,
a nekomancer is someone who practices nekomancy. which is (using the merriam-webster definition for necromancy):
conjuration of (the spirits of) cats for purposes of magically revealing the future or influencing the course of events
to put it in a more rpg way, a nekomancer is like a necromancer but he does not use dead people(’s souls), but cats ;)
